- I am the elementary librarian at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, Georgia. I have been blessed to be a participant in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program for three weeks in October 2008. 160 teachers from across America will be guests of the Japanese government to learn about their people, culture, education, and so much more. We will bring experiences and lesson plans home to share with our students as we foster friendship and understanding between Japan and America. This blog is dedicated to the memory of my precious Daddy and brother David, both great lovers of history. I would give most anything to share my Japanese exploits with them. In my memory I can still hear their laughter as I imagine telling them my stories of Japan. Special arigato to Mr. Gregg Thompson, headmaster, and Mrs. Gayle Putnal, elementary principal, for allowing me to participate in this program. And thanks to my Heavenly Father, from Whom all blessings flow, for this incredible opportunity!
